Pre-Covid life was very different, these days we all prefer our distance and space generally is more valued. We test ourselves regularly and had sanitation is available throughout your stay. Here are some things we have noticed and fully respect.

  • Covid
    Prior to your arrival and after cleaning your room we use a UV Lamp to ensure your room really is clean for your arrival. Guests often bring their own pillows these days which we fully respect.
  • Rooms
    A Daily turnaround is no longer automatic but is available. After polling a few hundred guests we found that most are generally happy to leave items they want changed outside their room such as cups and saucers, water bottles and of course the bins. As a consequence we generally do not enter the rooms until you depart.
    Towels are automatically changed on the morning of the 4th night and towel radiators in the bathrooms ensure all towels are dry for their next use. Fresh towels can be provided every other day (not every day) so on the third day if needed we will offer fresh towels. Most guests are now environmentally aware and do not require fresh towels everyday.
    Replacement items Outside the bedroom is a small table, anything left on the table such as bins, bottles, nightcaps will be replaced automatically. There is a fridge in all rooms should you wish to bring your own items to refrigerate.
  • Vehicles
    Parking is secure and onsite free of charge.
    Electric Bikes are welcome although for insurance reasons batteries cannot be charged in the house however we can store the bikes securely and charge the batteries under cover which protects all parties. See https://saltcote.co.uk/electric-bike-charging-rye/
  • Bed bugs
    We have never had them, we do take active precautions against them with traps in the rooms as a check and frequent use of safe and effective chemicals once a month. (update October 2023 –  Sadly if you travelling from Paris to the UK we are unable to accept your reservation if you stayed in a Paris accommodation provider – sorry).
